One day old baby elephant on BBC Animals

Saba Douglas Hamilton, animal expert of Big Cat Diary fame, has a lucky break when she finds a one day old elephant calf. Cute animal video from BBC wildlife show 'Elephants of the Samburu' with interesting facts.

    Its amazing how big something one day old is - and especially with mammals like this you can really see how much they rely on their instinct directly out of the womb. Its like he knows the drill on day one!

    I've got a sweet pair of tusks that belonged to my Great Grandfather who got them on an expedition when he was 22! he died in '88, god rest his soul. Its a shame they weren't seen for the beautiful animals they are today.
